Free and Reduced Application

  • Children need healthy meals to learn.  The Newton Community School District offers healthy meals every school day.
  • Your children may qualify for free meals/milk or for reduced price meals.
  • All families need to apply every school year, but only one application per household is needed even if your children attend more than one school in the Newton CSD.
  • Be sure to read and sign the Waiver Information on the back of the application to be considered for a full or partial waiver of school fees.


  • 2019 - 2020 applications will be available in the following ways:
    • Website links (below) - after July 15, 2019
    • Paper copies at district office - after July 15, 2019
    • Paper copies at school buildings - beginning July 29, 2019
    • Infinite Campus Portal - beginning July 29, 2019
  • Completed applications can be submitted in the following ways:  
    • Mail or return to:
      • Newton Community Schools, 800 E 4th St S, Newton, IA  50208  ATTN:  Cristy Croson
    • Drop off at:
      • E.J.H. Beard Administration Center (1302 1st Ave W) (Beginning July 16, 2019)
        • The district office is open during the summer months:  June & July (7:30 AM - 4:30 PM) Monday-Thursday, closed on Fridays
        • Staff is available if you need to come in person to complete an application
      • At any school building office secretary (Beginning July 29, 2019)
